Enabling root access for LightDM

This really related to cases where lightDM uses PAM authentication in OSes such as FreeBSD.

I recommend reading up on:

https://www.tuxradar.com/content/how-pam-works

Anyway, you’ll need to navigate to:

# cd /usr/local/etc/pam.d

Use vi to edit the lightdm file here.
# vi /usr/local/etc/pam.d/lightdm

Comment out the line:
account requisite pam_securetty.so
so it reads
#account requisite pam_securetty.so

the pam_securetty.so restricts root to login, so disabling this will allow root logins from lightDM.
